I took the day off today! *Gasp* I know. Its terrible. But guess what, *&#% happens.
So here is the story:
I was driving my husband to school with the plan to go to the grocery store-we were seriously out of food- and my 2 year old little guy threw up. Like a ton... So I pulled over to the side of the road and we took off his clothes and cleaned everything up as much as possible. Since my husband, David, was still with us I decided to hurry to the store and leave everyone in the car with him. After a quick store run we were on our way back to school for the hubster. Little man threw up again. Gross. This time we left him in his seat and wiped him a little bit. I dropped my husband off at school and headed home. That was just the beginning of my day. It ended with some explosive pull-ups, and me realizing I went most of the day without eating. By the time my husband got home, after the kids bed time, I was exhausted, light headed, and foggy brained.
Hence the rest day. I take cues from my body, and I needed the day off. So no pictures today, and no food plan as of yet. Sick kids kind of throw a wrench into all my plans.

Day 6: Transformation Tuesday
If you think I am going to be posting about some amazing results I am having, you are going to be sorely mistaken.
Its actually the opposite.
I am feeling pretty discouraged. Instead of seeing any progress I see my love handles, I feel like my arms are huge, I see a bloated stomach that is also super white (compared to my tan arms and legs - thanks to the beach and a 1 piece swim suit).
We've all been there, right? Where you look at where you are and you are unhappy. So I went to my accountability partner (my husband), and cried to him told him everything I was feeling. He told me to pay attention to my reps during the workout, and to see how few breaks I am taking. He told me that even though I may not see it, there is a difference in my fitness.
You know what, he was right. I am stronger than I was. I may not see it with my eyes, but I can feel it.
We all have bad days, and that is what an accountability partner, or a coach is all about. To pick you up, dust you off, and remind you why you are amazing and why you can do anything you put your mind to.
Can I be your accountability partner? Whether you choose to do a challenge group or not, I want to help. Why? Because I love to help people. That is something that makes me feel happy and fulfilled.
Sign up here so I can be your coach, because everyone needs someone. Its free, and I need help just as much as you do.
Day 5: Mondays are Awesome!
So Mondays are great. I used to hate Monday, but with a small shift in thinking, I now like Mondays. Why do I like them? To me they start the week, and its a new beginning. Sunday wipes the slate of the last week, and Monday begins the Awesome again.
I like how Mondays allow for anything to happen. Monday sets the tone for the rest of the week, and I choose for my week to amazing. Its all a choice. If you choose to be happy every single day, then over time you wont have to convince yourself, it will become second nature.
As much as I like my fitness to be about my body and changing my shape to be a little more desirable (in my eyes), it is all about mental fitness. If you believe you can push yourself you will.
My challenge for you:
Wake up with purpose, and make your Mondays Awesome. :)

Day 4: Sunday
Sunday is my rest day. I spend it going to church, and taking an easy day with my family.
The 21 Day Fix has a yoga workout to do on your "Rest" day, I haven't actually pulled it out and looked at it, but my husband and I opted for the no workout rest day. So no pictures today. I will resume tomorrow. :)

Day 3: Saturday is a Special Day
10 points for Gryffindor if that song is now stuck in your head. You're welcome. If you don't know the song, you lucky duck. Its one of those, catchy songs but gets annoying really fast.
Today was our last Saturday before school starts for my husband. I wish I had more interesting things to write, but that is kind of consuming our life right now. We had a beach day, and then went to the arcade in the evening. It was a lot of fun for us and the kids. I am super happy I got up to work out this morning. I hate not working out in the morning, I am in such a bad mood all day if I don't work out.
All our food was prepped before we went to the beach, and there were no indulgences at the arcade either. Gotta say, I'm pretty proud of us right now.
I think I will share my meal plan with you at the end of the week, because it has gotten tweaked with the new school year, I don't have the car every day so emergency grocery trips don't happen anymore. This Thursday (which ends my first 7 days) I will share my stats, meal plan and some comparison photos.

Day 2: Its Friday!
So my normal routine for the week, is to try really hard and eat well. Then the weekend hits and I'm like
EAT ALL OF EVERYTHING!!!
I don't really know if this is because I have associated food as a reward, but you know, I made it through the week, with 3 kids still alive, so I deserve a cookie. Or a whole box of cookies... right?! This time around I have my partner in crime, my husband, helping me to not cheat this weekend. He usually agrees that we should have a treat, but he has so much resolve this time around. Its actually really nice.
I started learning about making goals and working towards being better about 2 years ago. When I told him I wanted to buy a book about goal setting he said okay, but he had reservations. Two years later, he is on the band wagon and great things are happening for our family. I love him. *Sigh*
Sorry for the mushies. Sometimes you just gotta mush about your spouse, it makes them feel special. :)
Also I decided that I like doing a collage better than the larger pictures. You don't have to scroll more, I think its a bit better looking. Do you like it?
*Also all photos are untouched by any editing (besides adding words, and put in the collage). Just ps you rock if you are reading my blog.

Day 1: 21 Day Fix
I'll start with a little about the 21 Day Fix. The workouts are 30 mins. It comes with nifty containers to measure your food with, and it comes with a detailed food plan.
I chose the 21 Day Fix because I need something that I can stick with. I also need a little more guidance with portion control. I either have to focus on portion sizes or calories. With this program, controlling portion sizes is waaay easier than counting calories. Also for anyone who is busy ie: anyone, especially parents.
I will be posting my meal plan tomorrow. Why not today?! Well its late, and I have to make it better looking than it is right now. But I will be posting my daily pictures again, because I need motivation. I need accountability. So here they are. My Day 1 pictures, these are 3 months postpartum, so be kind. :)

The YO-YO
So here I am, again, at the beginning of the 21 Day Fix. So I love the program, the one reason i haven't finished it is me. Ahh!! I know what?! The problem is I don't finish. I always cheat and then give up. (Say it ain't so...) Sadly, yes, I am a habitual quitter. But I'm breaking some habits, and I want to break this one. It is time.
Growing up my parents yo-yo dieted, and my sisters and I were just a part of it. My mom made our food, so when she dieted, so did we. I think I have tried the Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, and the whole host of diet programs out there; just because that was the "diet of the month" for my parents. But i never saw them actually be happy with a program and just stick with it. When they reached a good weight, they would stop following the diet plan. Thus the yo-yo ing. Does this sound familiar? This is how I learned to live my life. Starving myself, eating too much, and trying everything under the sun, but NEVER being consistent.
That is the key, consistency. Why is that the KEY? Let me answer that with another question. Did you know that fitness and nutrition is an exercise of the mind? If you believe in yourself, then you have the willpower to stay consistent. If you give up- well, that is you telling yourself "its not worth it, ill never make it, thats for other people."
So this is me, making myself accountable. I will be posting daily fitness pictures, I will be talking about how I am doing each day, and I will share my meal plan, and if you want I will share some of my recipes. I also want you to join me.
My challenge group starts Sept 8th, and I have 5 spots available. 21 days of working together, changing habits, working on nutrition, and having fun. I know I need more help, more motivation, and more accountability. So if you want in, fill out my application, because I want to help those who are committed. This could change your life if you let it. Lets work together.
